Week four sees our Reception pupils in full time, 8.50 – 3.15. We are delighted to see how the older pupils have been  getting to know their names and taking care of them in the playground. This caring attitutude is something we are very proud of at Sherborne. This coming week sees our first sporting tournament of the year – quicksticks hockey, so we will continue to promote the #YesUCan message across all our curriculum.

What is FOSS?

Hi Everyone,

We are coming up to a busy time of year for FOSS. So just a quick reminder of who we are.

FOSS stands for the Friends of Sherborne School; every parent, grandparent and teacher is most welcome at our meetings.

We raise money so that all of the children in the school can enjoy the little extras that the LA funding doesn’t run to. For example we have supplied tablets for the school, purchased the TV in the infants and we have subsidised school trips. As we are a small school we do need everyone’s help. I appreciate that not everybody likes sitting in a meeting, but would kindly ask if parents would consider helping out at (at least) one event during the year.

Last term saw the installation of a brand new trim trail. This has been a major fundraising achievement and will benefit all the pupils for a very long time. A big thank you to eveyone who has contributed over the years to make this happen.

It does mean however, that funds are now back at square one and we must look to fundraise for any future projects. Please do offer your help and support; it’s a great way to get to know people better and it’s for the benefit of all the children.

Kind Regards

Annette O’Brien
